Abstract

Introduction: After the global pandemic due to the SARS-CoV-2 virus was declared in 2020, different pharmaceutical laboratories began to develop vaccines against this virus, using modified RNA for this purpose. The objective of this study is to compare the adverse effects manifested by the working population of the University Hospitals of Donostia, Galdakao, Cruces and Severo Ochoa after the administration of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines against SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Method: Retrospective cohort study. The data was collected by using an online questionnaire and, subsequently, it was analyzed using database software STATA.

Results: The workers vaccinated with the Moderna vaccine have reported more adverse effects than the ones vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine. Moreover, there were more notifications of adverse effects after the second dose of Moderna vaccine.

Conclusions: The workers vaccinated with the Moderna vaccine have presented significantly more adverse efects then those vaccinated with Pfizer, although it requieres additional studies to confirm these results and determine the causes of this difference.
