Introduction: Stress can be measured by observing adverse psychological and behavioral reactions caused by pressure in the workplace, which can affect an employee’s job performance. To determine the relationship between stress levels and job performance in administrative workers at the Madre de Dios Regional Health Directorate in Peru
Method: Descriptive cross-sectional study with a simple of 130 administrative workers. The validated Stress Assessment Questionnaire was used to measure stress, and the validated Individual Job Performance Scale was used for the job performance variable. Kendall’s Tau b statistical test was used to determine the relationship between the two ordinal categorical variables.
Results: 33.85% had an average level of stress, and 53.85% had a fair level of job performance. The correlation was good (Kendall’s Tau b = -0.724), with an inverse correlation, with a high level of significance (p = 0.001).
Conclusions: The higher the stress level, the lower the job performance of administrative staff at the Madre de Dios Regional Health Department in Peru.
